Coastal fishing

Apart from at the mouths of rivers and a few protected areas, anybody who wants to cast their line for cod, salmon trout, garfish, eel, ide or flat fish into the sea from the coast can do so without a fishing permit. The rules for fishing from a boat are not the same, for more info. contact the Tourist Office.

Salmon and salmon trout fishing are not permitted between 15/9–31/12 and you need a permit for lake and river fishing, permits can be bought from Fiske & Sportboden in Ystad; they will also help you with equipment and advice. You can catch salmon trout, pike, perch, eel and roach in the Nybroån river, permits are required!

Walking and riding

The Skåne trails, Skåneleden, include 1,000 kilometres of marked trails, 60 of these are in the municipality of Ystad and we are very proud of that, because it's
50 % of all the coastal trails in Skåne.

You can also ride and stay at Stall Vinkille close to Kåseberga, who offer Bed & Box. And if you haven’t brought your own horse you can enjoy tour riding with Ystad ridskola and Stora Herrestads ridskolor.

Another great way of getting about is by bike!

Golf and sporting activities - seaside!

In Nybrostrand, 200 m from the sea, is Ystad Golf club. This 18-hole course is open all year, weather permitting. The club has its own driving range, shop and restaurant.

Ystad sports ground and tennis courts in Sandskogen are ideal for sporting activities.
