For garden lovers

It’s growing fast …

… and no wonder because Ystad is in cultivation area no 1. The climate is so mild that even flora from southern climes can be cultivated here.

Some of Skåne’s best nurseries and gardens can be found in and around Ystad.

The town centre is a garden in its own right, particularly when it comes to trees – wander around and have a look.

Åbergs trädgård

136 years of green rooms

Åbergs Trädgård in Öja was established in 1872 and is one of the oldest nurseries in Sweden. One of their specialities is herbs, indeed they have over one thousand varieties of aromatic plants and perennials.

To this can be added 2,400 types of trees and bushes. You can also have a nice coffee-break in greenhouse café.

Other garden centres include Ystads Plantskola, Blomsterhuset Europa, Plantskolan in Stora Herrestad and Växthuset Glemminge in Glemmingebro.

Vineyards & Mediterranean perfumes

In the lavender fields of Österlenkryddor in Köpingebro you can dream your way to more southerly climes. Enjoy guided walks through the herb garden. The garden shop sells herb products and felt articles.

Europé’s most northerly sparkling wine grapes are cultivated in the Vingården Köpingsberg vineyards, from here there are fine views over the sea and countryside.

Our public rooms

The park department of Ystad and the monastery gardens offer locals and visitors colourful flower beds and centre pieces nearly all year round.
